And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not re[served] a blessing for me?
This shall be thine of the most holy things, re[served] from the fire: every oblation of their's, every meat offering of their's, and every sin offering of their's, and every trespass offering of their's which they shall render unto me, shall be most holy for thee and for thy sons.
When ye have transgressed the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and [served] other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they [served] other gods.
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers [served] that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and pre[served] us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:
And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD, and [served] Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsook the LORD, and served not him.

And it shall be, when their fathers or their brethren come unto us to complain, that we will say unto them, Be favourable unto them for our sakes: because we re[served] not to each man his wife in the war: for ye did not give unto them at this time, that ye should be guilty.
According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and [served] other gods, so do they also unto thee.

For they have not [served] thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them, neither turned they from their wicked works.
On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that [served] in the presence of Ahasuerus the king,
And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the pre[served] of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and [served] strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not your's.
And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have [served], and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth.
Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith the LORD, and have walked after other gods, and have [served] them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
At the end of seven years let ye go every man his brother an Hebrew, which hath been sold unto thee; and when he hath [served] thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.
Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, which [served] the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,
Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyrus: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: yet had he no wages, nor his army, for Tyrus, for the service that he had [served] against it:
And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that [served] themselves of them.
